THE DAZE ARE COMING the daze are coming i feel it in my backbone the daze are coming we’re never going home the daze are coming cover up your ears look deep into the mirror the silence is screaming the daze are coming they’ll all come out to judge me when they’ll bother to begrudge me the daze are coming you’ll put away on your pride and suffer some of mine this horror that i sleep the days are coming when you won’t be on my mind the daze are coming i’m tired of remembering you the daze are coming i’m tired of pretending the daze are coming there’ll be nothing new worth learning the daze are coming there’ll be stars in all our eyes we didn’t realize what even hit us the daze are coming i’ll maybe need my rifle the daze are coming you’re gonna get a mouthful the daze are coming i’ll take away your cares you’re worries disappear i’m taking you with me (dear) the daze are coming when you won’t be on my mind the daze are coming i’m be tired of remembering you the daze are coming the moon is on the rise the daze are coming when i’ll know me in your eyes the daze are coming the skies will open wide the order of the stars here and in heaven on earth

about

Things Better Left Buried Department:
Like all hip young men in 1987, I was fascinated by The Smothers Brothers folksinging-comedy duo. Along with my friend Steven Hansen, I collected Smothers Bros records, went to Smothers Bros concerts, and, of course, made Smothers Bros homage home recordings. Evidence has recently surfaced of these tapes. The audio is barely audible, thankfully, and everything is 99% cringe, but we stand by our work. Also included on this compilation, only for the very brave of heart, is a 20-minute 2-man performance of the classic 1960 Twilight Zone episode, "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street." Also a Beatles medley and some ill-advised teenage ventures into freestyle telephone standup. R.I.P. Tommy Smothers. #notrecommendedlistening

"There's one word that exists in every language on the face of the Earth and in every society since man began to speak. And the word is truth. And in every language it means exactly the same thing. Truth is . . . what you get other people to believe." - Tom Smothers (February 2, 1937 - December 26, 2023)

The Smothers Brothers was a duo of American folk singers, musicians, and comedians consisting of siblings Tom and Dick Smothers. The brothers' trademark double act was performing folk songs (Tommy on acoustic guitar, Dick on double bass), which usually led to arguments between them. Tommy's signature line was "Mom always liked you best!" Tommy (the elder of the two) acted "slow" and Dick, the straight man, acted "superior".
